I've been better than ever. No pain. I'm able to drink with no problem. I just miss food. I want some Soup right now :( ... I am following my diet to the T since I don't want any leaks.. Wish these 9 days can go faster :( ... I am going back to work on Monday so hopefully it will keep my mind off of food... I didn't prepare myself emotionally for this. Idk if I am hungry or head hungry. I've been dreaming about food all week and when I wake up I am sad. They taste so good in my dream. Especially chocolate!!!! I am sick and tired of drinking the same thing and wish I could change it up a bit!!!!

I remember dreaming of food my first week out. Like, I literally would miss what my husband was saying to me because I was dreaming of grilled cheese sandwiches. How embarrassing right?

Here's what I suggest, distract yourself. Take a bath, give yourself a pedicure, listen to some music, sleep a lot, and just know it will pass. I am 5 months out (today! yay!) and I only vaguely remember those days. It gets better really quickly.

Perhaps you could also look in the recipe section and see what people were drinking at your stage? If you are at full liquids you can do high Protein Soups, pureed in the blender etc.

But yes I think what you're going through is normal, so hang in there.

I completely understand how you feel. I am 2 weeks post op and even with the limited increase in foods I miss real food. Of course, when I got some new foods after 1 week, I thought they tasted awesome but a week later, I am sick of them. Especially social settings.

I hear stories of ppl that can barely get their Protein shakes down and I have not had any issues with my allowed food and drink. I can judge when I am hungry pretty well but I am afraid I can't determine when I am full versus wanting to continue eating something that tastes good because it's the allowed amount just to eat it. (Eating with my head/ eyes)

Hey, I have had some of the same issues. Tired of having broth every day and juice/water/Vitamin Water. Yesterday I didn't have any broth, just stuck to the water/juice. Today I wanted to have some broth and it tasted good. The other thing that wasn't helping things was that I was on the couch a bit and just seeing food commercials was making me a little grumpy. Luckily I have some things to keep my mind off food, but when I am on the couch my mind wonders.

So yeah, I would suggest like a previous poster, to try and find something to do. Go work out or something. We have a TV in front of the treadmill, no cable is hooked up to it, so I have a TV series that I am watching. Its a specific time and I dont have to worry about food commercials, and that really helps me out a lot. Find something to distract you. Its probably more of a mental thing. I see food that I miss and I think my head is telling me more that I am craving it, not my stomach.

Im also about two weeks out. As far as feeling full i have read on other threads a lot that you dont really have the fullness feeling till your on solid foods. My full liquid diet sample meal plan has me eatting something every 1-1 1/2 hours and Water inbetween. But that changes when you are back on solids. I just work on my liquid intake and Vitamins and have Soups, pudding or yogurts as meals. Also i left the hospital on stage three full liquids. Aldo have a nutribullet that works wonders on soups so my stomach has work.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
