Very embarrassed but question about Urinary incontinence

Recommended Posts

So, I've lost 58 pounds and this is no longer an issue for me either.

I still try like the dickens to make sure tho so every sneeze I super clench up and cross the legs quick. It's habit for me now.

But I've not had an issue since losing I'd say about the first 35-40.

Good luck!

I am a newbie, and am very embarrassed about this, but occasionally, when I sneeze real hard or after the 4th or 5th sneeze in a row, or laugh a real hard gut laugh, i may (not always) experience urinary incontinence (TMI, I know:( can anyone tell me, if after weight loss, does this get better? or not effect it at all?

LeighAnne, I went to some urinary specialist last year recommended by my gynecologist, because I wanted bladder surgery to stop the awful incontinence I experienced for a few years. This so called specialist did about $6,000 worth of worthless -- I have no idea what to even call it. Tubes, probes, lol, junk. Once I lost 50 lbs, I have no problem any more, and I am so serious. No more pads, no more thoughts of surgery. I am normal again. I can cough again. I do not have to plan going to the restroom every THIRTY minutes. I do not have to plan groceries and shopping around restroom visits LOL. Hope this helps. Linda

Thank you, I just had surgery last Tuesday, so I am hoping once some weight comes off, I will experience the same thing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
