Sensitive to smells?!?!

Recommended Posts

I'm day 8 post-op and I'm super sensitive to smells. Things I used to love now give me a bit of stomach upset? I haven't read about it, so wanted to know if this is common.

Not sure if it's common, but I've noticed this as well. I'm 3 months post op and I still notice it. There's been days I've had to have my hubby eat across the room from me lol.

The first few weeks after surgery I was super sensitive to smell. I posted about it. I could smell catsup from across the room. My daughter opened a little bag of cheese its in her room and I could smell it from the living room! I'm nine weeks out now and it seems to have gone away.

Uhg, I know how you feel. When I was newly post op I all of a sudden I coulnd't stomach or smell or be in the same room as broth. Any kind of broth. It made me want to puke.

My smell sensitivity hasn't changed a bit I don't think - things that turned me off before still do at the same level and things that smell amazing smell just as good

I'm 12 days out and can't wait to eat some real solid food!!! No hunger pangs at all -- just mild weakness from lack of nutrients i guess and wishing i could enjoy some favorites in moderation of course. Scrambled eggs, chilli, turkey cuts, cheese, crackers, nut butters, popcorn --- oh man! The simple things that you never thought you would really miss

I was the same way for a week or two. I could smell my dog getting ready poop before he did it somehow. It got really weird cause I went from barely noticing anything to bring able to smell any and everything in my house.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
