Yes, it was for me too. I tried laying on my side opposite of the port and tried using lots of pillows and that helped soooo much for me.

I was going to suggest the pillows too, they definitely help relieve the pressure.

I'm six days post op and having trouble sleeping. I sleep on my back and I swear it feels heavy in my chest (in between the twins) Is this normal??

:help:

:funnypost:

Excuse me for a moment...TWINS..hahahhahahah!!!!:):Banane09:

Okay. Sorry.

Can you prop yourself with pillows, one at the back, lean against it, and one or two under your head? I have a horrid time sleeping and sometimes it is due to acid reflux. Propping myself up tends to give me relief. On my side, never on my back.

Someone told me the feeling of heaviness is the internal swelling. I'm 5 days post and every time I take a deep breath, it really hurts between the "twins" (mine aren't identical, one is a D the other DD!)

I'm taking it slow to make sure I heal properly. I have to go back to work on Tues. Hope I can make it through the day without a nap!

I'm very low on energy and i'm fighting off dehydration. I keep getting headaches and dizziness. I can't keep up with the liquids. Tomorrow I can go to full liquids and a few sips of a Protein Shake will do me good.

You know twins can be fraternal, not identical! :biggrin1:

You say you are fighting off dehydration. How well are you able to sip/drink Water? From what I've read here, dehydration can land you in the hospital. I also think you might be hungry!

Are any of these on your liquid diet? These were suggested my doctor afer the first 48 hours.

coffee, tea, diluted fruit juice

broth

Blenderized Soup

Skim milk or Lactaid milk

Jell-O, Popsicle’s

Yogurt

Sugar Fee pudding

Cottage cheese

Applesauce, oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat

V-8 low sodium

Protein drinks, carnation instant Breakfast, pure pro powder (no slim fast)

Keep posting so we can know how you are doing.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
