Accountability Partner

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am 38 years old & have been banded for nearly 2 years. I started this process at 293.2 lbs. In year 1, I lost 80lbs, after which, I become `comfortable`with my new body weight & become complacent. In year 2, I`ve loss about 15 lbs, maybe even a little less. It has teken me a year to refocus & get back on track. I am finally ready - my body seems ready to move past its plateau & I feel I am mentally ready to finish what I started and get to goal. I am about 0.5 lbs away from Onderland & about 50 lbs from goal.

I`m looking for an accountability partner that I can check in with daily or every other day. I feel like I am back on program but we all know what this CRAZY weight loss journey is like - one day you feel like you are rocking it and the next you feel like throwing in the towel.

If you find you are in a similiar situation & are interested in becoming accountability partners, let me know. If I`m lucky enough that more than one person is interested, that would be fantastic.

Hope I hear from you...

I'm willing...don't or hardly ever exercise but getting the motivation to start first of year. I too have 50lbs to go. I've been banded since 8-23 and have lost about 25lbs. But the last month or so go up 2 then go down to so basically staying the same. I've not had a fill yet dr says I'm doing good but I've been getting pretty hungry inbetween and I taje about 22 pills a day and very concerned that with a fill I won't get my meds down. But willing to try. Are there going to be any rules? Or just post what we've accomplished? Count me in and let me know. Thanks. Donna.

I've recommitted beginning the 1st. Doing 15 min treadmill 15 min stationary bike and will be working with my band and to my wii just dance 4. Grandaughter 14 loves to do the dancing so we do it about 3x a week until my knes give out. I'm using the jawbone wrist band to track movement. We'll see if it works. Good luck to all.

I went from a size 22/24 in June 2013 banded July 1 2013 wearing a size 16 :) down 79 lbs. I started small walking treadmill barely 5 minutes a day post surgery and now I plan my days around my workouts it's crazy n trust me a year ago I was not this person and now I'm still not sure who this new me is. We are here to encourage you !!!! I love my fitness pal it tells be his many calories I burn with my workouts n tracks my calories in n guess what more calories out vs in great weightloss !!!

I'm 63 got banded 8-13. I was 210 lbs. Now I have lost 25 lbs. I haven't had a fill yet I think I need a small one. I have many chronic diseases and chronic conditions. I take 22 pills a day but was on 33 before banded. I exercise as much as I can do but working toward doing them longer at the 1st of each month. I need to get more Protein in and veggies eating too much of sliders. But I'm cooking more so I am making progress.

Donna the band controls the quantity we need to control the quality as Carolinagirl says. U start with 5 mins a day until u get to 30/45/60 mins need to find the balm e what works for you . Ditch the sliders!!! Focus on Protein n veggies protein super impt (I'm afraid of hair loss so I make sure protien first. U want sliders drink a Protein shake n Water. It's a mind set n when ur ready you will be ready don't let this surgery be a waste :) u did great so far 25 lbs keep it going to you reach ur goal -.01 pound at a time ;) ounces add up

Thx for advice...I also have a problem of pbing. I can't seem to eat like 2-3 bites of whatever it comes up then most of the time the rest will go down. But this happens more than 2x a day almost everyday. I'm thinking I may need a cup of hot tea about 15 min before eating anything. Any ideas? I do eat small bites and chew carefully. I speak to the doctor in a week or so.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
