So, a long stall is normal? I'm almost two months out and feel like I haven't lost anything this whole month. I may have even gained a pound or two. I feel like I'm doing everything wrong. I am eating but not to much, but I can't stomach Protein Shakes so I'm lacking there and have been so busy with work and the holidays that I haven't exercised. Maybe I'm failing at this.

Naw, you're not failing. Some days you're just going to do better than others. But always keep in mind that Protein, Water, and Vitamins have got to happen. Then try to get as close to your individual goals for them as possible. In the times when I just can't take another Protein Shake, cottage cheese helps me get to protein goal. It's easy on the pouch and relatively high protein.

I seem to not be loosing weight lately but I know I am for sure loosing inches most of my clothe wouldn't fit before surgery n now 3 wks after i am fitting into them little by little n some are actually fitting to loose, but I still refuse to go clothe shopping. I won't buy clothe til i teach my goal weight of 130 or 120lbs.

Shop! Thrift stores. Outlets (I am in Florida and get $50 Lee jeans for under $10). Wearing clothes that fit properly is empowering! There is no way I could still wear my "fat" clothes today. 20 months out...10+/- off goal. Went to a party tonight where I worked 10 years ago. Rocked the heels. People I waited on for years didn't recognize me. I had so much fun!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
