Welcome to BariatricPal!

Recommended Posts

Dear Member,

I hope you are enjoying a happy and healthy holiday season. As the year draws to a close, I wanted to reach out to you about the exciting new changes in our weight loss surgery community. In November, after much preparation, we launched BariatricPal as a replacement for the old family of WLSBoards, which included LapBandTalk.com, VerticalSleeveTalk.com and RNYTalk.com. I would like to welcome you again to BariatricPal and extend another invitation to visit if you have not been by recently!

BariatricPal has the same great weight loss surgery procedure-specific discussion boards, photo galleries, chat rooms, blogging features, and everything else that you loved on LapBandTalk, VerticalSleeveTalk and RNYTalk. Even the old conversations and your membership profile were automatically moved to BariatricPal, so you do not have to do anything besides login! (Just follow the instructions provided here if you lost your password). Everything is available on mobile apps for Apple and Android devices – just make sure you download the new BariatricPal app because the old ones do not work anymore.

I apologize to those members who discovered bugs in the early days of BariatricPal. I appreciate and depend on your feedback, and have made many improvements since the site launched last month. For example, some members reported receiving messages about surgical procedures that were not their chosen ones. Please read about how you can fix that here! Or, follow these steps:

  • Login to BariatricPal. You can retrieve your lost password here if necessary.
  • Click on the wheel icon to the right of your username at the upper right corner of the page. Select “My Settings” from the dropdown menu.

  • Click on the tab “Member Information.”

  • From the drop-down menu near “Surgery,” select your surgery type. If you would like to receive content from all other surgery types, check the box. If you do not want to receive content from other surgery types, leave the box unchecked.

  • Click on “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.

While you’re updating your settings, I’d also like to ask you to review your surgeon information and update your patient information.

Please respond to this email or click here to contact us if you are having trouble with your account.

Again, I encourage you to login to BariatricPal and take advantage of everything it has to offer as you strive to lose weight and get healthy. Thank you for your continued support!

BariatricPal has exciting plans for 2014, and I am glad that you are making BariatricPal part of your weight loss journey! Have a wonderful holiday season and may you continue to achieve your goals in the New Year!

Sincerely,

Alex Brecher, Founder

BariatricPal

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
