Impatiently waiting for a swimsuit

Recommended Posts

So our company arranged a gym discount for us and I decided to take advantage of it. While I was talking to the coordinator, I mentioned that I would be having surgery sometime early next year. That's when she told me they have an aquatic bariatric boot camp that just started. I had to order a new bathing suit, and I'm hoping to get it in time for the next class.

No particular reason for sharing, I'm just excited about it :).

Also nervous about the suit. I got a pair of cover up shorts to wear over it, because as I've gotten bigger, I find my belly pushes the leg openings out and my hoo-ha, well, let's just say it gets a little too much air. Skirted suits only help OUT of the Water. I hope those shorts are long enough!

How the heck do other big people wear "regular" suits without a problem? Is that going to go away post-op, or will my empty belly flap still try to..y'know...open the "windows" and make an escape??

You could try a tri athlete suit. You can get them either to your knees or your ankles. I am coming over to the States next month (my sister stays in Virginia) and I needed a new suit. Purchased 2 short leg tri athlete suits as I've come down four dress sizes since my surgery on 09/18. They are a bit tight but I've kept them as they were in the sale and were cheap. I have a belly as well but not much to show off in the hoo-ha area. I mainly bought the longer length suits to cover up the fat bits above my knees. So I then bought another suit in another sale, this time one that ends under your bottom. It's not bad, the belly is still there but there are no escapees!

I will say though my belly has come down a huge amount since surgery and I am 38 pounds down since then. So I think it will go down even more, the more weight I lose. Best of luck with your own surgery, you will not regret it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
