Hidradenitis Suppurativa?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had this skin condition pre op or post op? I'm informed it is often weight related. Just curious if it changed with WLS? If you don't want to post feel free to pm me.

I had this diagnosed prior to surgery. I take a antibiotic at the irate sign of a flair. Usually within a day it subsides. I usually continue to take it for a day or two more to ensure that it is gone away.

Minocycline is used to treat a wide variety of infections, including acne. This medication belongs to the class of antibiotics known as tetracyclines. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (e.g., common cold, flu). Unnecessary use or overuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness.

I don't mind answering questions.

I had surgery May 15. I have not had a flair since surgery. I reached goal at 6 months. So I have a normal bmi now.

That's the same antibiotic I use, once I became a vegetarian and lost weight through exercise it became noticeably better. I'm pre op and was hoping it would be less obnoxious post op, sometimes it's a pain to keep trekking at the gym during these flares.

I understand. But I think weight is a factor, because I used to have flairs in the summer and the heat. I have not had any sice surgery. I hope it is that way for you too.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
