Hey all- I was also sleeved on Monday 12/2. Congratulations to all the new sleevers! Still feeling bloated as well and uncomfortable sitting and laying down/sleeping. I'm walking around a lot but I feel like I've overdone it today. I am taking Gas X sometimes and liquid pain medication when I feel it's unbearable. It's not pain feeling but it's just uncomfortable and I am starting to feel frustrated. I can only have a spoonful of something and feel uncomfortable. I need to get my fluids in but I'm getting frustrated with that as well. On top of it all, tonight my mother made chocolate chip cookies! I wasn't hungry for them but I felt like that wasn't nice. My stepdad and brother both got the sleeve a few years ago so they are all being supportive but I'm very impatient and feeling a bit like "why did I do this?!". I know I made the best decision for my life and this is all temporary, but I'm feeling like a big baby right now! Lol. Anyone else feeling this way? :(

Yesterday was rough not gonna lie! Hurts to sip Water hopefully that will go away??? Starting Protein Shakes today and possible released from hospital this afternoon. Has anyone had problems with it hurting to sip?

I had this issue as well. I mixed some Gatorade & water or apple juice & water and was able to sip those a lot better than plain water. My doctor just urged me to keep trying. I made sure I was sitting straight up and walked a little to help it go down. Gas-x strips also helped with excess gas inside while trying to squeeze liquid in as well. It's much better for me, surgery was on Tues 12/3/13 , but it's still a work in progress. Hope it's gotten much better for you :)

Hang in there, y'all. The gas can take several days to pass. Walking and tiny sips. I liked hit broth and watered down fruit juice my first couple weeks. Remember anything liquid counts toward your Water. I also recommend making up only half your Protein Shake at a time or putting it in the freezer until it is just starting to turn slushy. Walking and sipping is your full time job right now.

Today a lot better on the sipping...there really is something to the tiny sips that's for sure ( a skill we will all master)...enjoying a chocolate Unjury with PB2, milk & ice for Breakfast. Have to say it's delish!!!

Have a great day all!! YAY for us!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
