10 Weeks Out 5 Week Stall !

Recommended Posts

I'll be 10 weeks out on Friday and haven't lost any weight for the last 5 weeks. How long does a normal stall last ?

We are all different and of course will lose weight at different rates, especially guys and gals. I too have been stuck, stalled for almost a month now. I keep telling myself to have patience, but I'm getting tired of looking at the same numbers, I want it to go down...NOW!

I had a 7+ week stall. Hang in there and remember not to starve your body or it will fight weight loss

Recently, I had a very long stall myself. I was stalled for about 2-3 months with zero loss, and bounced around the same 3-4 pounds. I was frustrated, and began to think possibly I was done losing. I finally decided that I needed to make some changes to continue my loss. I started exercising and going to the gym on a regular basis. I know we are supposed to start exercising from teh beginning, but I didn't. Adding the gym caused me to immediately start dropping again. I've lost about 15 lbs within the past month and a half by adding the gym into my daily routine. It really does work, and is actually far less effort then I chalked it up to be. My best advice, if your calories are on track, and everything else looks good, try upping your gym/cardio exercise and hopefully you'll see the movement again. Good luck!

Thanks ! It's nice to know I'm not the only one. And, my total gym came today so going to start adding in exercise as well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
