GasX and lots of walking are your best defense against gas. And, I always recommend a heating pad on your tummy, it feels good and relieves some of the discomfort in general.

Iam hurting too, juju and just a general feeling of blah. They did a hernia repair to do too. I can't seem to get a deep breath and my port sight is sore. To be expected I guess. My ex husband stayed with me and my son last night and helped massage a lot of the shoulder gas out. Also, the liquid pain medicine makes me drowsy....all normal I suppose. Couldn't talk yesterday bc tube had irritated my throat. We are going to make it girl!

Amen to that! I'm 5 days post OP and I'm living on my heating pad. Really helpful so is.the walking if you can swing your arms a little I think it helped me the gas didn't didn't make me feel like im having a heart attack

The gas is pumped into your body cavity to expand it a little to make the surgery go easier for the surgeon....it is then extracted when finished but there is always some left...it will travel under the rib cage and up to the left shoulder.....

Gas-X works inside the digestive system, this gas is outside in the body cavity.

On the surgical wing in hospitals it is a standing order to get the patient up and walking as soon as possible....this is the only thing that will help...not re-leave it, but help it move and dissipate faster.....

Gas-x and heating pads may help you feel better, for other reasons you may even be aware of, it has nothing to do in relieving these type of surgical gas pains....

I don't know about the pumping gas into to your body until after the fact but it was the most painful thing I've ever experienced I pretty much thought I was gonna have a heart attack and died I still have some but for the most part its better

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
