  • The surgery is no more dangerous than gallbladder surgery. We will be fine. We need to do our part. Follow the directions. Get our heads right. Reach out to support groups / psychologists / forum

  • I thought it would be in January - but I was just scheduled with Dr. Cribbins for Dec. 31 in Plano, TX. I start the pre-op diet in a few days. It will be a happy New Year!

  • I felt the same way. I got the call saying i was approved. The skinny girl inside me started screaming. Oh did i tell you i was approved in 2 days. (In my Wendy Williams whisper). Lol

Congratulations!!!

I got a date today, Dec 16th! Started the diet immediately today. Excited and scared all at the same time. You know you are addicted to food with it's been 15 hours and you are ready to hit someone! Haha

My surgery date is Dec. 20th. I meet with my surgeon & nutritionist on the 13th. With those dates being so close together I am glad that I will not have a lengthy pre op diet (if any) It feels like I have been waiting so long that having a date still doesn't feel real.

Yay...... I have been SLEEVED! I had surgery on Tuesday Dec. 2nd. All is well and I am very excited for this new journey.... And I feel very blessed to have this opportunity to improve my life. I had a wonderful Dr. in Miami Fl. His name is Dr. Moises Jacobs ....Good luck to everyone :)

Everything completed and submitted to BCBS! I'm anxious for the preauth results and getting more and more nervous about the surgery on 30th.( if approved) starting to get cold feet, looking at all the side effects etc... Ugh!

First time posting. Paper work being submitted today. Hoping for a date by the end of the year. The surgeon's office said it should not be a problem. Looking forward to joining the December group.

I'm so hungry right now I could eat toenails, and it's only day 2 of the liquid diet. Mind over matter!!!!!!!

Hang in there December sleevers you'll be on our side soon!!! It's a great feeling!

Haha oh boy tell me about it... I start mine tomorrow for real but have already done a test drive for two days - it's not easy! One thing I tried (and I suggest) is to get some of those fiber gummies (sugar free) and slowly chew a few then drink something. It staves off that horrible hunger feeling for a bit until it's time for another shake. Plus they help keep you regular!

Drink alot of water. I just had surgery December 3rd anf had to do two weeks liquids. It was hard just hang in there

I did a two week pre-op diet too. It gets easier especially if you prep the night before. I set up my shakes in bottles, my jello, and broth. This is something we have to learn to be successful on the other side.

I'm guess I'm just frustrated with so many people saying they can eat. I'm not suppose to eat anything except for SF jello! This would be a huge challenge for someone that is skinny, let alone an overweight person. Thanks for the encouragement! I know I can do it, just struggling right now.

Hang in there Amanda just think of the loss you'll have post-op!
