December 2013 Sleevers
From what everyone else says on here, stalls and plateaus are completely normal. I was the same weight for about 3 weeks then it finally started coming off again. Maybe you need to eat more! Your body might think it's starving and it's hanging onto what it has instead of burning it

December 2013 Sleevers
I'm down 71 as of this morning. The only suggestion I have is be consistent. Chose what you eat very wisely, ESP since you can't eat much. I get into habits where I eat the same thing. For months I have eaten one can of chicken noodle soup. It fills me up and is low in calories! I thought I would be sick of soup after that liquid diet but I still love it. It doesn't hurt my stomach.

December 2013 Sleevers
I need to exercise more! I use the elliptical 3 times a week but I need to increase that up to 5 days a week and go longer. I'll be honest, I don't eat much at all. Around 800 calories a day. My biggest issue is beer. I am not suppose to drink anything for a year and I've drank several times. It's empty calories!!! Ugh.

December 2013 Sleevers
Sleeved on 12/16. Down 45 pounds since 12/2. Feeling great. Hardest thing for me is getting protein in and drinking before and after eating. I want to drink so bad after I eat and it makes me throw up every single time. Biggest struggle!

Me, too!!! I'm not weighing everyday but I better be losing. It was time for dinner tonight and I didn't even want to eat. So tired of soups. My doctor never stressed a certain amount of protein so I haven't been counting it. I probably haven't had a ton of protein bc I can hardly drink the protein shakes. I'm getting depressed too. Like I said. I better be losing!

Does anyone regret this surgery?
I think not feeling regret would actually be odd. Most people that are morbidly obese love food. (I'm speaking about myself). I had my surgery and I have absolutely felt sorry for myself. Reading pre-op and post-op discussions is just that. Reading. Experiencing can be a totally different thing. I DO NOT regret having this surgery done, but have I had feelings of regret, yes. This is a life changing surgery. Period. Being on liquid diet during the holiday is very tough, especially for people that LOVE food. I think 98% of this experience is mental. It's in our heads. We just all need to try to remain positive and try our best to stick to our doctor's orders and change our mentality about food. Every single person that elected to have this surgery was UNHAPPY about their bodies. I just hope in one year I can look at my body and be HEALTHY and HAPPY. It's all be worth it, every sad and regretful feeling will have been worth it!

December 2013 Sleevers
It's is so hard to not eat and drink together. I just had soup at Newks and I had to wash it down with water. I'm full as a tick, which is great, but sometimes I don't see how you can avoid a sip!

It's so strange that every doctor has a different diet. I am one week post op and I am on the "creamy" stage but he said creamy soups only (besides protein shakes and clear broths). I see a lot of ppl get refried beans and eggs, etc. Weird!!

How much are you eating at one time? I think I'm eating kinda a lot and I should measure things. I haven't eaten so much I've hurt yet. I'm just so paranoid this won't work for me even tho I've already lost 23 pounds. I think so much of this is mental.

Does anyone regret this surgery?
It will be good in the long run. It's an adjustment and I have felt regrets too but hopefully I will be over 100 pounds down. Weight is something we will struggle with our whole lives. This will help. How much weight have you lost?

6 days post op and I'm hungry
I'm 8 days post op and I am hungry too. I don't think it's real hunger tho. I honestly think it's in my mind. People with eating disorders eat often bc of habit. I think that's my problem. It's in my head. Plus, this is the WORST time of the year to be going through this. I've been to 4 Christmas parties and it's TOUGH!

I am one week post op, and unlike most people that are posting..I AM hungry. Any good ideas for creamy soups that are low calorie??

Still hungry?
I am 6 days post op. The first several days I was not hungry at all, however the past couple of days I have been hungry. I don't know if it's in my head or what, but it scares me. I don't think it helps that the past 2 days I have gone to huge Christmas party/feasts, but I'm so paranoid that I will still be hungry after this sleeve! Is this normal?

TMI, bowel movements
It's pretty bad. I don't understand how that much liquid poop can come out when hardly anything is going in. It hits me so fast. Don't ever think you are going to just fart either, odds are it's more. My friend said once we get to the puréed stage it gets better so I guess we will have to "tough it out". I've always had an awful phobia about public restrooms so I'm planning my "liquids" around where I am. I know I am shopping tomorrow so I'm just drinking powerade zero until I get home. That's it. I'll eat the broths when I get home so I'm near my toilet. Sad story but it's the truth

TMI, bowel movements
I know this is TMI, but we are all friends here, right? I'm 5 days post op. All I've had is SF Popsicles and water until yesterday I had some chicken broth. Holy cow! It went straight through me. Fast! Is this normal? Today I had beef broth. Same thing! Am I going to have to eat at home for a while? This is annoying!

How do you take your crushed meds without gagging
I just had my surgery on Monday. Am I only crushing these bc I'm so close out of surgery? What about 1 month out? Will I always have to crush pills?
-
How do you take your crushed meds without gagging
Omg. This is horrible. I only have 2 pills to crush and I have been mixing my pills with a little powerade zero. Awful awful awful. It takes hours to get that funky taste out of my mouth!

What are you eating (drinking) one week post-op
Sleeved the 16th and on clear liquids only until Monday then I can add in protein shakes for one week. No puréed foods for me until week 3. I think every doctor is different.
-
What are you eating (drinking) one week post-op
My surgery was Monday also. The first 3 days were awful. I didn't even want food. Yesterday I made a roast in the crockpot for my family. I had 3 sips of the beef broth from the roast and veggies. It was delicious. I can't tell you how amazing it tasted. However, it went straight through me. It didn't hurt my stomach bc I ate very little, but I have had the runs ever since. I'm eating Popsicles and drinking powerade zero and that's about it. I just keep telling myself I will be skinny. I'm going to work today on light duty, then I'll be off the next week and a half, I'm a teacher. I just hope I stay no hungry like I am now.

Surgery 12/16
Surgery was Monday. Today was MUCH better! I guess I'm finally healing bc I could actually drink water and eat beef broth without being sick. My one side is still very sore, but it will heal. I've had so many emotions going through my mind. I'm not physically hungry, but my mind thinks of food a lot. This sounds dramatic, but I feel like this surgery is almost a funeral for food. Will I ever truly enjoy food again?
