  • The surgery is no more dangerous than gallbladder surgery. We will be fine. We need to do our part. Follow the directions. Get our heads right. Reach out to support groups / psychologists / forum

  • I thought it would be in January - but I was just scheduled with Dr. Cribbins for Dec. 31 in Plano, TX. I start the pre-op diet in a few days. It will be a happy New Year!

  • I felt the same way. I got the call saying i was approved. The skinny girl inside me started screaming. Oh did i tell you i was approved in 2 days. (In my Wendy Williams whisper). Lol

I have a list of bariatric-friendly protein shakes that my dietician gave me that has some really good ones you can mix up. Most notably the orange dreamsicle, pumpkin pie, apple pie, s'mores, chocolate peanut butter, and caramel latte among many others. If you want me to send you the recipe for a few let me know.

I like Twinlab Invisiwhey powder. It still has that nasty protein smell, but the taste is not so dectectable. I also could tolerate Designer Whey and Oh Yeah. I did not like Isopure at all.

I don't think my last post worked. I got my date! December 9th! Starting week 2 of my 14 day liquid fast. Thanksgiving was rough!!! But I know it will be worth it!

I'd love some ideas. I have a dreamsicle and pumpkin pie to try still. I'd love to see recipes for the others. Thanks :)

List of protein shakes

Thanks for these! Here's hoping I find something I can stomach.

I am tomorrow morning! Excited and nervous.

One trick I have found is That for me the Protein blends (like Synthrax Matrix) are soooooo much more tolerable than the ones that are only whey isolate. The simply vanilla had no protein taste to me at all!

I know this sounds crazy but each one I've tried tastes like the smell of a dead rat! I know it's gross but what it reminds me of

Tomorrow is finally my surgery day. I'm extremely nervous but I know that this is the best decision I've made. So for those who have already gone through it, do you have any tips or things that you did to calm your nerves before the surgery?

Congrats. You'll be fine. I'm right after you. I have surgery on Tuesday.
