  • The surgery is no more dangerous than gallbladder surgery. We will be fine. We need to do our part. Follow the directions. Get our heads right. Reach out to support groups / psychologists / forum

  • I thought it would be in January - but I was just scheduled with Dr. Cribbins for Dec. 31 in Plano, TX. I start the pre-op diet in a few days. It will be a happy New Year!

  • I felt the same way. I got the call saying i was approved. The skinny girl inside me started screaming. Oh did i tell you i was approved in 2 days. (In my Wendy Williams whisper). Lol

Congratulations, I am glad you are feeling good. Praying for a speedy recovery... Hearing your story is making me a little less nervous... I have about 13 days before I'm sleeved! Keep us posted on your journey... Yay! So excited for you!!!

Dec. 23 here. Both nervous and excited!

I'm happy to read that everyone who has gone in so far is doing well. Congrats to you all and wishing everyone continued success. Please keep posting the updates!

I just completed my pre-surg testing today. The nurses said I am in good hands with my surgeon. This has helped bring some mental relief today, feeling better about this now. Time for me to man up and get this party started!! woop woop :D

Congrats to all who've had their surgeries! Hope this post finds everyone well. Plz post updates of your progress and dilemmas for those of us still in wait. This site keeps me motivated and eases my fears. Hope everyone has a merry Christmas!

I had my surgery on Monday and home yesterday, so great to sleep in my own bed. I think I was expecting it to be more painful in the hospital but it wasn't bad at all, very little pain and the nurses at Sisters are the best! Can't wait to keep moving forward on my journey!

Congrats to you! When are you due to go back to work? As I'm typing I'm in pre-op/triage, I was stuck three times trying to get a vein : ( my surgery was pushed back 2 hours do I'm just trying to relax as u h as I can.

Congrats on your surgery, hopefully the time flies!

Hi doopa, Sisters Hospital? Are you here in Buffalo?

I'm getting sleeved on December 23 (two days before Christmas!) and like the OP I feel scared and excited. Even though the idea of losing weight and being healthier and all the other pros to doing this outweigh the cons (possibly having loose skin, 6 months of hair loss, it doesn't work) I'm still pretty nervous. I wish the 23rd would get here so I can stop stressing about it!

I'm meeting with my surgeon and nutritionist on Monday to discuss logistics and my pre-op diet.

can't wait to see you all on the other side! I love this forum because I've only told my parents, husband and 1 friend (she's a lapbander) that I'm having this procedure done, so it's good to have other people to talk with since none of my friends know.
