I just had my first fill last week. Nothing to it!! If your surgeon does fills under fluro you are in for a treat! It's awesome to watch! I had a small bruise the next day but it didn't hurt really. The night of the full I went to my Zumba class, so really, it's easy!

My first fill was painful. I was still over 300 pounds so the doctor had a lot of fat to go through, it was like finding a port in a haystack. I was also NOT done under fluro. None of my fills have been under fluro.

Other than that the other fills have been a cake walk. My most recent one hurt a bit but that was because it was a new dr and my port is now on an angle.

Not bad at all! I was so nervous for my first fill and I used to give myself 6 shots in the stomach a DAY! Don't look at the needle, it can be intimidating. Usually my doc pushing around my port to find the right spot 'hurts' more than the needle stick. And I say 'hurts' very loosly, b/c it really didn't hurt..just pushing. And after all that feeling around "I" think it kind of numbs the area....I really barely feel the needle. Now once they put it in, I find it feels a little strange when they put the Fluid in...like a pulsing feeling. Each time gets easier. Good luck!

I have had three fills so far. I was really scared before the first one and was pleasantly surprised that it didn't hurt at all. The second one was a larger fill and took longer. I was not so pleasantly surprised that it did hurt that time. It wasn't horrible but not at all pleasant ! I had my third one this week. I told him that the last one hurt and I wasn't at all looking forward to the experience of another one. He took his time and waited a few seconds to let the numbing shot work before doing the fill and it wasn't bad at all. The needle for the numbing shot is very small so it doesn't hurt. I think the reason the second fill hurt is that the fill needle went in immediately after the numbing needle. Waiting a few seconds made the difference for me.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
