Fiddleman 4,376 Posted October 15, 2013 Hey - I am from Seattle area also. The nut was perfectly fine with us drinking coffee before and after surgery, with the exception of 1 day before surgery. That being said, you may find Decaf easier on your stomach for the first month post op. I went back on caps, lattes and drip about 6 week post op. Starbucks of course. I drank coffee pretty consistently day to day until about month 7 when I cut way back and started to eat more paleo style to support better work outs. Today, at about 15 months, I drink coffee about once or twice a week. Just does not appeal to me much any longer. Good luck on your surgery. 2 AshleyMidwife and sophiepants reacted to this

SuperFab 689 Posted October 15, 2013 coffee is a diuretic. It makes most people go to the restroom. Sleevers already have difficulty getting their liquids in the first bit after surgery, so the Dr doesn't want anything else that can aid dehydration. This is one reason coffee is a no-no right after the sleeve.

sophiepants 489 Posted October 19, 2013 Yep just talked to my NUT Thursday and told her I'd been drinking a cup of coffee a day for a week and she was fine with it. Said she'd never mess with a persons coffee. YES!!
Beach Lover 1,084 Posted October 19, 2013 Before my surgery I absolutely hated coffee! Post op at 4 months I find myself drinking and enjoying coffee! Talk about a change of taste!! I drink 1 cup 1/2 Decaf with my Premiere Protein Shake and sugar free caramel machiatto and it is delicious!! Never ever thought I would drink coffee but it has replaced soda, crystal light drinks etc. I just can't stand the fruit flavored stuff anymore.
