I'm confused. Weren't you the one that started a thread for dirty confessions that amounted to nothing but people telling about all the "bad" foods they ate?

Personally I don't care either way, people can whine or not and I can choose to read and respond or not, I'm just trying to make sense of how dirty confessions and no guilt go together. Confession to me means I did something wrong, which is really what the people that are driving you bat **** are saying right?

I dunno. It's been a long couple of days so forgive me if I'm not following the thread here.

Madam -- As a stirrer of pots, you are easily one of my favorite people on this here board. It would be so fun to meet you IRL, but the fact that you exclaim "BALLS" and I say "y'all" leads me to believe we're a world apart, geographically speaking.

I fully intend to be sleeved and eat disgusting things from time to time. Balance is what I'm after. I will fully embrace "bad eating" now and again, and have no plans to whine -- not even once.

Yeah, apologies for the 'British -isms'! My man says 'Y'all'.. 'cause he's a card-carrying southerner - so you never know, I could be on your turf one day soon!

I don't wish to be a 'stirrer of pots'.. I just say it as I see it - hopefully with a bit of humour. Which, it appears, seems to get people very excitable!

Nothing says it more eloquently than this picture...

And, as long as you're funny - feel free to whine away! :D

I think the purpose of this thread and that one you mentioned might be to make it acceptable to announce one ate "unhealthy" food without shame, guilt or judgement.

Or if not the purpose....at least the consequence.

No, you're not following it entirely...

The 'dirty' little secret post was the prelude to this one. That thread being a vehicle for people to air their dirty laundry (i.e the 'bad' things they ate) in a fun and humorous way.. Showing that all people are equal and all people deviate from their diets occasionally. Its meant to be fun... It was also a way of people venting in a non-judgemental environment and to stave off the 'flaming' which occurs for some peoples food choices. Categorising it as 'amounting to nothing', I feel, is a bit harsh. Some people have enjoyed it... Maybe it's not for you - and that is entirely your prerogative.

This post? This is about people who intentionally covet the sympathy of others by falsely eluding to the end of the world being nigh.. because they ate some frosting and now they feel 'depressed'...

Maybe it doesn't get on your nerves - maybe it does? But it sure as hell gets on mine, so I thought I'd have a little rant about it! And why not?!!!

Clarification: amounted to nothing except food, as in I hoped there would be other salacious confessions, not as in, it was worth nothing :P . I hope that clarifies my poor choice of words.

No, the objective of this thread is not to make it acceptable to 'announce one ate unhealthy food'. However, the former one is about getting it out in the open without the 'shame, guilt or judgement'.

Clear as mud?!

Posting your progress, is certainly not a negative. It's a positive and it should be congratulated! Saying the sky is going to fall in because you had a tootsie roll, is just not cool...

And I saw your pictures. They were awesome :)

I have been saying this stuff for months now on this forum...I feel like I was talking to myself most of the time...Dam..Maybe if I had a cool accent people might have listened...LOL

I dunno, RJ - the rate this thread is going; any perceived benefit which might be accrued by having a different accent, is clearly lost in global miscomprehension!

So I recently posted a thread that sounded pretty similar to the ones that are like nails on a chalkboard for you.... I wasn't whining in my opinion ( Madam eveRy time I read whinging I crack up' date=' so funny the differences an ocean can make!) I was stating my progress thus far, how much I've lost, the fact that I hadn't lost in 2 weeks, and posted a before and after pic. I did this for my own benefit, to keep me motivated, and... I'm not gonna lie, maybe a few kind words of encouragement or GASP! God forbid, maybe 1 or 2 "atta girl's"! Lord knows I haven't had a life filled with kind words or recognition. Sometimes we are just looking for a response, period. Because we don't always get that when we need it from our friends/family... I was a little disappointed in the few responses I received, but hey, that's what happens with expectations. You constantly get let down. People need to treat others as they would like to be treated. That said, whiners are annoying as hell, especially when it's the same thing over and over. I get it.[/quote']

Is that kind of like the (fortunately) few people who post their exact same before and after pictures on thread after thread? They just can't get enough atta girls off of the boards? I don't know why, but boy, that does irk me!

I think this is mean spirited. As are most of the posts here.

I will think twice about this being a safe place to post my thoughts or my pictures.

I know I haven't been here as long as you vets have(and I'm not getting sleeved til 22nd), but lately there seems to be so much

"Your liquid diet is going to suck way worse as you go, just watch out" or "the pain post op will be the worst pain you'll ever feel" kind of stuff. I'm just annoyed that others would drive fear into their posts when a lot of people are already scared.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
