Been in a Plateau for the last 1.5 months :(

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the opinions and suggestions, I think I am first going to try increasing my greens (which I severely suck on - so anyone with good greens recipes, feel free to share lol!) and lowering my carb intake to see if that helps in the next two to three weeks. If I don't see a difference I might have to look at decreasing my sugar intake from the fruits as well that I am taking it.

I guess it's a matter of a playing around game until I see what works unfortunately.

Maybe change up what you eat a bit...add more carbs, eat a few more calories one day, restrict more the next, that kind of thing. I have plateaued, as we all have or will, and then there will be an occasion where I eat more than normal (this summer a big group camping trip...everyone brought food and shared)...I was careful, but ate different than normal. I would have sworn I gained weight, but after arriving home, I lost 2 or 3 lbs. Crazy, but I think sometimes we need to keep our body guessing...keep it out of the rut. Good luck! And congrats on almost 100lbs!!!!!

Just want to say thanks all for the ideas. So far so good as I was able to drop a couple lbs since changing up what I eat for breakfast/lunch/dinner

Though the oreos probably didn't help me today but they were yummy treat that I hopefully will burn off come my first 5k tomorrow lol!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
