Reconstructive surgery

Recommended Posts

So I have to start my saying that i had my lapband in 2006 and have lost 45 kilograms, and have had a Tummy Tuck and my arms done 12 months ago. Believe it or not im still recovering, my arms are pretty great i must say im very happy with them.

My tummy has been a long process, i still have some pain in my abdomen and part of it is still numb a year on! I think i can feel scar tissue as it hurts to touch, and i had an infection in hospital after the surgery where they had to go in and reoperate.

I do lots of gym work but unfortunately i have skin EVERYWHERE... to be removed.

I have 3 more operations ahead of me, my upper tummy, thights, and breasts.

Im just trying to get to my goal weight before having anymore surgery and im still about 10 kilograms off it.

Finding weight loss at this point really difficult to achieve.

Despite my surgery issues, i would recommend this to anyone that has taken the time and effort to lose a substantial amount of weight..

I just need to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

just so you know any surgery anywhere can leave some of the area mum forever but it isnt anything to worry about. You just can play with God's work and get it bsack to his profection. Good work on you wieght loss.

foxychick, <love the name btw

I just underwent major cosm. surgery (tt, arm lift, breast lift and aug). Prior to this procedure, I had multiple surgeries, to include x3 c-sections. The very first c-section made the area directly underneath my incisional scar numb and it never returned. Neural issues (whether it be an occluded nerve in your spine, to nerve damage during surgery) are very long healing. However, I would guesstimate that if by one year you do not have any feeling you can count it as permanent. Hey, the + side is that if you ever need subq injections, you can just do it there since the abdomen is a common place for them and you won't even feel it (smirk).

I'm sorry that you are having issues/pain. So far I am healing on schedule, no real pain. I still have my steristrips on so I have no visual of the actual scars but doc says they should heal similar to what my previous c/s scars resulted in.

You mentioned you have more work to be done. The good thing about that is perhaps some of the scar tissue that is creating havoc will be removed in the process and your new incisional line will heal nicer with less complications.

Your results look great. I will be posting mine after a month or so when everything looks 'normal' again ahaah

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
