Very glad for you. Did you end up taking the citrate? I hate that stuff! Now you need to get on a good bowel regime. I have had to take laxatives and softeners right from the beginning. I take 1 senna and colace every morning and two of each every night. If I go more than two days without going I add in a dose of Miralax.< /p>

I did take the citrate. I guess thats what finally did it. I was doing daily miralax but i guess thats not enough (i did miss a day before things stopped moving). I am going to add the senna and colace...that ought to do it. Dont want to do this again. I guess between the Calcium and Iron and Protein, things just cant move on their own.

Yeah, I think some people are lucky and have no bowel issues, but it seems the majority do, at least for some time. I was just scared to death to have to go to the hospital and be disimpacted or anything. My friend that had to go and they gave her the citrate? She later also received an enema, and then went all over the floor. I didn't mention that to you earlier in fear you wouldn't go to the ER in the event you couldn't go on your own. I would have died if I were her but that fear has driven me to stick with all my laxatives!

4ducolax a day does it? Two miralax daily is kind of cumbersome.... If ducolax alone will do it maybe ill switch to that

yes, because it is a softener and a stimulant, so it works for me and the pills are tiny...miralax, senna , and colace are just softeners not stiimulants....need my stimulant to get things moving!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
