Stall? Already?

Recommended Posts

I am two weeks post op today. I have lost a total of 14 lb, but that was as of last wed., so I have stayed the same for 5 days! How is this possible when I am eating well under 1000 calories a day. I am getting right around 60 g of Protein per day. I have not been exercising yet though.....is this what a stall is?? I am just so impatient, and now I think I am never gonna get 100+ lb off!

I stalled after 10 days and only 11 lbs and now again after 6 lbs and nothing in a week...so i feel your pain, not flying off like I thought it would...groan.

Girly I stalled for 2 weeks - my surgeon said I wasn't getting enough Water in. So, I can tell you as soon as I started drinking 60+ ounces of water everyday the stall ended. I've lost a pound a day for the last two weeks. Keep up the hard work - everyone stalls throughout the journey so just keep on keeping on knowing you will get there when you get there :)

There is no schedule for stalls and no substitute for patience. Patience is not only a virtue, it's an absolute necessity in the weight loss journey. Your goal is physical change but your challenge is mental discipline. Stay positive. Stay patient. Stay focused. Follow the protocol as closely to the letter as you possibly can. You will lose weight. The laws of science and the universe cannot be denied. But they also cannot be rushed. Allow your body to find its own way in its own time. You're going to hear it again and again - everyone is different.

But one thing never changes - you're gonna love the new you!!

Well said! In fact this is the perfect response... I think I asked the same question shortly after my surgery. Patience - everyone is different - follow the plan! Success will follow! By the way, I'm six months post op an it took me about 5 months to have patience - so glad I found it!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
