August 22nd!

We are one week away from our date!

We should all be on some sort of pre-op liquid plan, so let's hear how it's going from y'all.

I am on sugar-free/ low-fat liquids. I am still experimenting with different Protein powders, but I have pretty much settled on a brand. After surgery I plan on going organic and GMO-free. I figured that there is no excuse not to since I will eat so little.

Are y'all exercising? I have been off of exercise since about two weeks before my last surgery, which was three weeks ago. I really look forward to exercising again once I am able. I have a friend who used to be a trainer for the Baltimore Ravens; he was telling me that cardio is important, but strength training is more important. We will need to build/ maintain our muscles in order to keep our basal metabolism high.

Are you nervous? I am. Not because I think I will regret my decision, but because I can't wait for next year! I have been obese since I was 7. It's high time I looked as good as I feel. Dealing with the reason I am obese was hard. As a child it was a protection issue. I tried to make myself ugly. As a teen and young adult I struggled with depression, and I ate out of sheer desperation to feel something besides pain. Now that I can look back and see the pattern, it makes me know that I don't need food to be my best friend anymore. I know that I can go forward and use food as fuel and not comfort. I pray we all keep working on our food issues, because they never truly go away if we don't do the work. We don't want to be back here in the pre-op area in a few years.

I'm in my room. My belly is swollen and very painful, plus the leftover gas hurts. I am on a morphine pump and I have slept most of the day. I have a catheter, which is good because walking to the bathroom is exhausting. I'm also not allowed to eat or drink anything until tomorrow. Lord, Water never looked so tempting in all my life!

You're lucky! My doctor has me on Vicodin pills every four hours so it's been rough. He didn't leave the catheter in so I have been getting up all the time to go to the bathroom. My stomach is in a lot of pain but I have been walking around to try and get rid of the air!

Today went amazing! I cannot believe I'm on the loser's bench! My pain has only been at a 2 all day. I'm able to get up and go to the bathroom and I've walked around the nurses station twice already! Get to go home tomorrow. My amazing husband is here with me and helping me out A LOT!!! I am sooooo blessed!!! Hope everyone else is doing well! I've been thinking of all of you :)

Thanks! I am hoping to go home tomorrow but it seems like they aren't going to let me go since my pain level is still too high! Ugh this hurt more than my lap band surgery!

Yay! So happy everyone did well! My surgery went great, was in a lot of pain earlier but I've walked around 4 times now and that helped a ton! Still have a catheter in, thank god cus I could not imagine getting unhooked from all this stuff every time i had to use the bathroom. Should be getting discharged tomorrow! Remember ladies, today was the first day to the rest of our amazing lives! Goodnight :)

Keep up the good work August people. My surgery is on Monday and you all are an inspiration!

I made it!!! I'm finally on the losers bench after a 5 hour surgery with a small complication. I'm in and out of sleep but wanted to check in and let you ladies know I'm ok. So glad to read everyone else is sitting next to me on that bench. ????

On the losers bench! The gas pain is awful. On clear liquids. No Catheter, off the oxygen and leg pumps that prevent clots. But my oh my all the pills and shots and i.v. Duff is crazy. Everyone says i look great, incisions good. Took a shower. Pray for burps! Let's all kit!

I had my contrast test this morning and as of 1:15 pm I am on clear liquids! I have had 0.5 oz of sugar-free jello and I am constantly sipping water. I am so tired, which I expected. Two major surgeries in one month is hard. I am actually fighting sleep as I write this. Sleep obviously wins so I will talk with you gals later!

Getting discharged now! :) was getting worried because I could not pee after they took the catheter out so they would have had to put another one in! Luckily the peeing gods were with me lol! So happy to be going home :) in some pain but much more manageable today!

So glad everyone is doing good!! I can't wait to be on the loser bench with you all!! I'm so jealous.. Lol :)

I had a catheter in until I passed the swallow

Test. Them after they took out the tube up my nose. I walked yesterday them at 2:00 am and today a long way. My dr had to perform a hand assist and had to make a 2 1/2 incision. Hopefully home on Sunday
