I am having an issue with food too. Everything starts to taste weird to me and then I get nauseous. I just don't want to eat anything!

20 lbs since surgery.

I was told I could have plain yogurt starting Saturday but I can't stand plain yogurt. Anyone else going to do vanilla yogurt?

I have already lost 20 lbs since surgery. I kind of got worried it was so quick.

Omg I am sick of sweet. I has some chicken broth today to substitute some protein shake because I would gag at the protein shake and I won't risk my new stomach. The soup tasted like heaven!!

I had my surgery on 8/21/13 and I am still in the liquid phase. Anyone else dying until they can have 1/2 a scrambled egg or some tuna on a cracker??

I can't even think of eating jello!!

I came home yesterday. My doctor wouldn't let me out until I stopped asking for pain medication since he refused to give me any pain medication when I was home. I am still uncomfortable but it's getting better each day!

Thanks! I am hoping to go home tomorrow but it seems like they aren't going to let me go since my pain level is still too high! Ugh this hurt more than my lap band surgery!

My surgery is on Wednesday!!! I am so excited! I am on day two of my clear liquid diet and today has been a little rough. I got dizzy for a little bit but I refuse to not do this 100% I already have my bag packed with my toiletries! Good luck to everyone this week!!

Me too!! I already have my diet list for after surgery so I need to stock up on all those items. I have to start a clear liquid diet three days before surgery which I am not looking forward to but it beats two weeks of Protein shakes.

My surgery is set for August 21st! I already did my medical clearance and Pre op appointment. I am just waiting to meet the anesthesiologist and then it's here!!!! Anyone else with the same date??

I have BC/BS but after the first denial they gave me approval. I feel like they do that just to make sure you really want it.

I'm so sorry to hear that but everyone is right there might have been something missing! I was denied twice before getting an approval. They kept saying I had not provided adequate proof that I tried to lose the weight and then they said my BMI wasn't sufficient even though I had the lap band and it failed and my BMI was well within the numbers. After my surgeon called the head of insurance they told me that if I hit a certain level they would approve me no questions so I had to do three more months of weight loss documentation. Sometimes they play these games just to prolong it. See if your insurance has a time limit to resubmit because sometimes that is a shorter time than appealing it. Good luck!!

So I have been reading Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies and I have been putting together a list of questions to ask my Doctor at my pre op appointment. I am going crazy trying to get all bases covered! What questions should be approached? Any tips? I would really appreciate it!
