one year post op and 15wks pregnant!

Recommended Posts

Highest weight 450lbs, current weight 220lbs! IUD went MIA and here we are. Having a phenomenally HORRIBLE go of it. The only time I am not quesy is when I am asleep, can't keep pills down, dehydrated...so worried about my choice to continue on...potential risk of harm to baby and self :'(

Also have moderate-severe fibromyalgia and am now in a wheelchair since becoming pregnant.

Anyone else have a rough go with POSITIVE results? Hints? Help!

Oh yes of course! I am still being seen by the Weight Management Clinic and have a specialist with the High Risk OB/GYN unit at the same hospital. I guess I am hping for any day to day tips/tricks/advice. I am in a mild depression due to my failing physical health and the stress is just the WORST! I have tried flat sugar free gingerale and soda crackers but that does NOTHING to combat the INSANE nausea :(

Congrats! I'm 26w pregnant and the nausea and vomiting didn't stop until a few weeks into my second trimester. Zofran helped sometimes where I wasn't vomiting so much but was still nauseous. I have no tips cuz every woman and pregnancy is different but all I ate was deli meat and cold fruit in those days. Good luck!

Did anyone else STRUGGLE with dehydration and blood pressure (too low)

I had to get fluids 3 times for dehydration. I still struggle now with drinking Water. Water is so gross now. Weird because pre op I would drink at least 10 bottles a day.

I have a question. Did anything help with extremely bad nausea? I am sick 24/7 and now getting to the point I'm hardly able to keep food in me at all. Im trying to get myself hydrated again and dealing with low blood pressure and I sleep all the time. Has anyone else dealt with this and is there any help??? Everyone thinks I'm crazy that I'm feeling this bad at 8 weeks but I am.

Weeks 7-9 were def the worst for me with nausea. Trying to eat something small every 2 hrs Helped some. It has gotten a little better since then. Also taking zofran which helps a very little bit. Ck on taking Vitamin B6 & unison daily as it is supposed to help too. I've been taking it at night but not sure if it works or not. But I was desperate to try anything!

Anybody know anything about Protein in the urine while pregnant?

Zofran helps a lot. And at each visit I have Protein in my urine but not to the point that my doc is worried.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
