Try sample pack to see what you like. I can only tolerate unflavored in Vitamin Water, broth, etc.

Isopure is great and they have several flavors. But any Protein Drink that is whey isolate would work. I have vanilla whey isolate and mix a teaspoon of sugar free berry Metamucil and a couple squirts of Mio, add Water and ice and blend it to a milk shake. It's pretty yummy. :-)

There are so many options.

Please learn from my mistakes - don't go buy a whole lot of one brand before surgery. Your taste buds WILL change after surgery, and the powder you love right now will make you nauseous at the thought of it post op. find some that work now an d after surgery from a Vitamin shop that will let you try before you buy.

I always keep vanilla on standby because I can make it whatever I want. Usually blend it with a combo of plain Greek yogurt, skim milk and frozen fruit. Ends up like a milkshake consistency. And like 30g protein!

Whomever said buy sample packs is right on! Unjury and Syntrax both have sample packs, I'd have em on hand and ready for post-op. taste is a very strange thing. I personally thought Isopure was like drinking acid flavored with cat urine, but some people like it!

GNC sells sample pack of their Protein light powder. I tried all favors and settled for vanilla bean with few drops of peach Water Enhancer :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
