help, I don't know how to use this site.

Recommended Posts

I'm not very swift on the computer. I know how to open my email and reply to them but that's the extent of my technical wizardry.

So I've been banded since 3-7-06 and this is my first attempt to "post". It has taken this long to figure out how/ where to type text!

I'm having lots of vomiting and my abdomen is very, very tender and I want to discuss this on this site...... Do I do a "thread" if so how do I create a thread? Is there a difference between posting something and a thread? I need a detailed, ELEMENTARY, explanation to use this site. Can anyone help me out? please?? don't take for granted I know anything... cause, well I don't.

many thanks -

Welcome to LBT--looks like you figured out how to make your first post!!

You can discuss your problem in 2 ways. You can go to the main (home) page, and scan through the Lap Band Complications forums. To do this, just click on the dark printed, underlined words of Lap Band Complications. It will bring up a list of all of the already posted threads of different complications. You can read through and see if anyone is having an already started conversation with similar symptoms, and join in. Or, you can stay there and begin your own thread...to do this, go to the top area where it has a "tab" that says Forum Tools, and when you click it, it will have a place to click to start a new thread. When the page pulls up, you will have to enter a topic/title, and have an area to post, the question, just like you did here.

If you need help, just ask!!! It gets kinda quiet at night, but there will always be someone around to help out!!!

We are glad you are here, and I am sorry you are having problems---hope someone here can shed some light!

Kat

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
