Recommended Posts

I'm considering doing them once a month or something while i loose weight hoping to keep from being so flabby. Anyone done these? What is your experience?

They are very popular right now!!!

I was thinking about but they are pricey that's what's kept me from trying one. My co workers do them for weight loss. I figure ... I'm losing lol

Amazon has them for a reasonable price, I tried it once and it definitely toned things up a bit!!

You can actually get the same results with bengay and plastic wrap. This technique is old school.. my mom use to pay top dollars to have her entire body wrapped.

Body wraps have been around for years and rise and fall in popularity. They are a temporary solution to the problem and you spend a lot of money on them.

The typical types of wraps are:

  • Moisturizing, which uses a variety of lotions and ingredients
  • Detox, which includes ingredients such as seaweed or mud that have more ''pulling'' action
  • Slimming that use smaller strips of material wrapped tightly
  • Cellulite, which typically uses herbal remedies

About all the wraps can really do is moisturize your skin. Any claims for detox, slimming or getting rid of cellulite are not supported by the medical community and are temporary solutions. While immediately after removing the wraps you will see some improvement, it only lasts for a few days. You sweat a lot during a wrap and lose Water weight, which gives people the false hope that it is helping them lose weight. In my opinion, I'm not stepping up to lose Water weight when I already have a problem getting all my water in for the day. Also, the wraps can't magically suck the fat out of your body. The wraps squeeze water from the area getting wrapped up, which comes back later. And detox comes from your liver and kidneys, which the wraps do not have any affect on.

I'm not trying to sway anyone, one way or another, but I will give my opinion on them. It's a fad that people have been trying for longer than I've been alive. Another silver bullet people are looking for to lose weight and look better. I had weight loss surgery for a reason and it's a marathon, not a sprint. I'm not here for the temporary solution to my problem.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
