I am moving to puréed foods tomorrow. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to transition? What are the best foods to start with or the worst?

Also, if anyone has my fitness pal I would love for you to add me. My username is hek1127.

I start puréed today.. I had a protein shake for breakfast and I know I'm getting refried beans, salsa and chicken and putting it in the blender tonight. Idk if it will be good but I'm craving beans!!

Hi kdgains! I started my purried too! I had 1/2 an egg with a tiny bit of cheese :-)

I'm not aloud egg or cheese until soft food stage which is two more weeks... Kinda stinks because I was hoping for an egg today.

That does stink! Again, so amazes at how different doctors are.

It really is amazing. I'm aloud cream soups, baby food, shakes, fruit smoothies (fat free), oatmeal, grits, applesauce, pudding, an puréed meat.

How far are people walking and how often?

I am walking about 30 mins twice a day. I don't judge how far I go, I just try to keep moving that long. Yesterday was the only day I didn't get in an hour. I am one week post op tomorrow.

HELP!!!!! Since I woke up from surgery I have been itching uncontrollably...it hasn't been my incisions so much as all around & my upper thigh...@ first I though it was a reaction to coming off all the meds but it seems to be getting worse & I'm breaking out in these red blotches... The only time it subsides is if I take Benadryl but I can't take this forever!! Has anyone else had this issue? I placed a call in & waiting for a response but I'm one step away from googling & then there is no telling how freaked out I will get!! Please if anyone has any experience with this or advice I would greatly appreciate it!!

Could be the pain meds..ask what they are giving you..

I've been walking three times a week I know I need to do more but this is all I can do right now three weeks until surgery.

You all are doing well with the walking, in 3 weeks out, I don't walk much, however, I am constantly found up and down stairs, that's my exercise.

Not hungry but wanting to eat.......HELP

I walk at least once a day and I try to go at least a mile at this stage (15 days out). I'm really not feeling much abdominal pain at this point, so I need to start pushing myself a little more. Wish the weather would stay cool. It's hard to want to walk when it's so muggy.
