Do you feel hungry? I don't remember feeling hungry so early on. I remember feeling full easy and it even caused me to stop drinking as much Water (Bad idea I got dehydrated of course) but its cause I was still swollen from surgery.

Main point. I don't remember feeling hungry. If you feel hungry and can't get the full feeling.

Surgery date 7/25/12

I felt hungry at first so you're not alone:). And now after 6 weeks I hardly ever do. I just think the liquids were not so filling for me and of course everybody is different:)

My surgery was 4/1/13.

I never feel full or hungry. I have some head hunger of course, but nothing real.

You have to remember. Most or all of the nerves to your stomach were cut. Nerves only grow back so much at a time and sometimes not at all. A friend of mine had this years ago. She hasn't felt hungry since. So I guess everyone is different.

I would LOVE to never be hungry again!! To eat only to fuel the 'machine'... such freedom!

I felt hungry, I felt the doctor failed, and my body failed. I thought i would be forever suck in this fat body. But it was all in the head, I had to adjust to the new me. It's normal for some. But it's apart of becoming new

I'm never hungry at 6 months out. I have to remind myself to eat. I have head hunger but I ignore that. I do feel full real quick while eating.

I get some head hunger related to smells especially. But if I eat slowly and do lots of Protein I fill up quick. I really fill up quicker on hard protein like chicken than soft like yogurt.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
