I have my RNY revision from Lapband scheduled with Dr Patel for June 26th. However, I am not happy with his office staff whatsoever. They are never the same people, the wait time for appts are horrendous and the insurance and scheduling folks are very unprofessional. So, I have an appt tomorrow with Dr. John Pilcher to see if I like his office better and I may switch doctors. I hope your experience is better than mine at Dr Patel.

Oh gosh. I am going for my 1st appointment at Bariatric Solutions this week. I chose them because their reviews were all 5's. Now I am a little concerned. Maybe I should cancel for another place?

You should meet with them. I'm having Dr. Stowers do my surgery. The staff has been great, very informative, and always available. There's so many Dr out there and I know it's hard to choose. For me I wanted a Dr that primarily performs weight loss surgery. Not sure if that matters but it was one of the criteria I used to help my decision. I'm linked to realself.com where I met someone who used Dr Stower also, and she had a great recovery and results. I've been on a 6mos diet with their nutrionist for insurance approval. Scheduled for April 25th. Good luck on your decision.

I'm from DFW. Dr McCarty did a mini sleeve on Feb 10. I'm down 51lbs. His staff is awesome, and I highly recommend you check him out. His procedure is out patient, and no restrictions afterwards.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
