MAY 2013 POST-OP GROUP

Recommended Posts

I'm glad to see that so many of us are doing well and that even though we have all lost different amounts of weight we are all pleased with our results so far. At my very first pre op appointment I weighted 338lbs which was my highest. The day of surgery I weighted 318. As of today I'm 256! The lowest I've ever been is 250 so thats my 1st goal but definitely not the last. This is the best decision I've ever made and everyday I hold my head up high and I am proud to be an rny patient.

All good here also. Hi from Australia. Band to bypass revision

Starting weight was 229.3 lb /104 kg now 185lb/ 84 kg. surgery was 13 may. Just starting to feel hungry a little more than before. Have no trouble with any food. Although I haven't tried anything naughty. Doing 60 gm of protien from food and just starting to get all my Water in. Only problem I have had was urinary tract infection.

All good here!!!

I am doing well, as well. My surgery was May 23rd and lost about 56lbs since. I am a slow loser and apparently also stalling atm but trying not to be a whiner and be grateful for my progress. I can eat anything in moderation and dumping is of no issue to me. Not planning on visiting Charlie and the chocolate factory either. =)) So glad to see all of you doing so good.

Ah ha! So that's the reason for that mix up! Lol it has been quiet on this group.

Time for everyone to check in.... How is everyone? I'm doing loads better and down 54 pounds! My surgery was May 30.

Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

Yeah, that's why I ended up in the April group and had to edit myself out. Haha Talk about being cookoo.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
