I'm on the fusion also and I'm switching. With my two thyroid meds and others four pills a day makes it hard to juggle.

HW 358 SW 344 CW 319 GOAL 200 surgery 4/11/13

I wonder if the orange cream fusion would be any better?

It's funny how different surgeons say different things. I was told under no circumstances should an RNY patient use flintstones Vitamins. I was told bariatric vits or Centrum silver (or its generic equivalent). Not using flintstones complete had something to do with ASMBS guidelines for bariatric patients. Here's also a write up about it .. http://wlsvitagarten.com/2011/01/16/guest-post-whats-the-fuss-about-flintstones

I personally take Centrum silver.

Thanks so much for sharing this, I had just bought a bottle of Flintstone's but had not opened them yet

We moved this past year from Colorado to Arizona' date=' my nurse/nutritionist at my previous doctor's office said that we could only take bariatric Vitamins like Bariatric Advantage for RNY. My current nutritionist says that taking Flinstones are ok, so I am confused. I asked my doctor and he said Flinstones, but didn't state the amount....Everything I read online says childrens Vitamins are not ok and I would have to take 4 daily.

I am trying to make the most of my RNY on 02/06/2013 and some of my Vitamin levels are on the low side, but I don't want to have to pay for just a name. I don't mind spending the money if the bariatric vitamins are indeed better. I am just curious what vitamins you are taking and how many per day. ASMBS has some guidelines but its a lot of number crunching, not that I am trying to avoid it, its just a little confusing. Here is the link http://s3.amazonaws.com/publicASMBS/GuidelinesStatements/Guidelines/bgs_final.pdf

I just want to be prepared for my next visit with the doctor to discuss my options and to do what will be best for my body. Any suggestions or comments are welcome <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Thanks,

Tara

I was told 3 flinstones vitamins for Menstrual women and 2 for non Menstrual also I take Bariatric Advantage Calcium (3) and B 12

I am almost 11 years out and all I have to say is PLEASE use a bariatric vitamin!!! Flimsy ones are cheap and you get what you pay for:))) I had my labs done and even taking a good bariatric Vitamin I am low in D. When I first stated I used Vista vitamins....then Bariatric advantage.. Now I use new life. We already compromise our absorption. Yes your labs might be ok for the first year or so but then your body's reserve is used and long term there are issues. Best of luck:)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
