Hello! I was wondering if anyone actually lost weight from the band removal it self while waiting for their bypass surgery.

Yes, had band out on 5/23/13, weighed 218 on 9/11/13 day of bypass weighed 211. I just continued to eat as I was taught to eat with a band. Plus I hadn't lost any weight for over a year, only dropped 40 lbs with the band.
