10mo out and finally have restriction!!!

Recommended Posts

Yay, I finally reached good restriction :) The last fill gave me some restriction but not enough, but this one is fabulous. I am at 9.5cc's in my VG 10cc band and feel great! I am finally losing again :girl_hug: I have been plateaued for the last 6mo. I can't eat more than 1/2 cup at a time (if it's super mushy maybe 1 cup for the evening meal) and I stay full for hours. Only downside is that I can't gulp my Water anymore, I have to sip it, but heck I can live with that.

Congrats, waterlily! That's a great accomplishment! I have the same band and currently have 8cc's. I have some restriction but not the amount that I want. I think once more will do it!

Keep up that level of excitement and you'll definitely be successful!

Congratulations! I hope others that are feeling frustration read this. I know so many are so concerned because they have the 10 cc band and are at 6 or 8 cc's and still don't feel restriction.

Congratulations Molly.

This is very encouraging for me. I have the 13cc VG band. Currently at 10.5cc in my band and still looking for good restriction.

I can still eat much more than the average bander and as a result I am a very slow loser.

My doctor prescribes a 7 day liquid diet post fill, which is where I loose the most of my weight. By 3-4 weeks post fill, I am eating regular again. :)

I had my 3rd fill mid january.

Now I am just wondering how long I need t wait to get the next one.

Well it depends on your surgeon on how aggressiv ethey are with fills but you can totally get a fill every week or two till you are where you need to be at my doc office. Just need to wait long enough fro the swelling to go down. Be a squeaky wheel and get another fill if you need one :)

I am right there with you waterlily. Just received my fill to 2.5 in a 4.0 and yes restriction feels WONDERFUL. I am in control again.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
