I am 11 days out and all my incision sites are doing great but I have a constant pan by my belly button that the doc says is nerve pain. I am supposed to go back to work Monday and don't know if. Will be able to. Just feeling down. I thought. Would feel better by now.

Hi, I am a teacher too. I tried to schedule around spring break, but missed that date. I hope you feel better before going back in, you know how important our job is? Well, your health is more important! We have got to take care of ourselves first, so we can create "all the other professions." Take care of yourself and feel better. My date is April 13th.

I'm depressed too. I can't get all my fluids in. My pouch is inflamed. I'm gassy. My incisions hurt. Everyone is posting food on Facebook. I"m worried I'll get a complication or something and regret this. I'm worried I'll never eat again. I miss food more than I thought. I hadn't realized what a food based society we are. It's a little ridiculous.

I haven't had my surgery yet (4/29/13) but I understand the the missing food part! I deal with everything by eating. I start an all liquid diet and I don't know how I'm going to do it!? I too also worry about complications to the point that it keeps me awake at night. I'm here for ya you aren't alone by far

To both of yall.

Its normal. Yeah it is ridiculous how much we live our lives around food! Its amazing I noticed that bc that was one of my first ah haha--bawling crying moments. U get it! Finally! This surgery is so much more about weight etc. Your gonna hurt and ir gonna twinge bc for one...we did hella damage to our bodies being obese as we lose our joints hurt and ache I know mine did. Mine hurt severe bc I was over 200lbs and a frickin cheerleader! I've had two surgeries on my knees so now that I'm a twig when it gets cold I walk like I'm 90! I ache everywhere. U r gonna find it hard to sleep as u lose cushion this is all normal. I keep telling others...ur grieving the death of a very special person which use to be food. Its not stupid to cry or get mad bc that's all the levels of grief. If yall need to msg me I will give yall my phone number and u can both call me crying bc I see myself when I read yalls story..all of us vets do. Hang in there and maybe block that person on fb for a while so u don't get to see the food porn. . .u can unsub from their notifications I believe. I always post my food recipes private just bc I use fb to store some of my junk LOL.

:) Thank you. I was feeling very sorry for myself. Good news, with the before surgery diet and now, I'm down 28 lbs. I hadn't managed this much weight loss in the last 3 years on diet pills, so that's something! But yes, food. I have to stay away from the news feed on Facebook and try to ignore everyone posting horribly decadent Desserts and bacon wrapped bacon covered in fat and dipped in chocolate wrapped around a rack of ribs and deep fried recipes as they bitch about being fat. Ya think? :eyeroll:

LoL I see that stuff constantly and I'm subbed to Paula Deen lol good Lord. I'm also finishing up a prednisone pack and I swear I want to eat my phone LOL. U def don't need to see that. I know my first food porn was after surgery and s burger king commercial came on I had never really ate there before but oh my word I sobbed like a baby! Then felt like a goober lol. See if u can turn off their feed that way u can at least see the inspiring posts on fb instead of those. I'm sittin here giggling thinking about my post op days lol.

Hang n it will pass soon or u will got nuts and wind up with just a handful of fb buddies lol

I've been doing a lot of surfing on pinterest for recipes I WILL be able to eat once I get to those phases. I've found a lot of great tofu recipes and low carb stuff. I'm a total foodie and surfing for recipes has made me miss food less.

U know I use to hate cooking bc my feet hurt to stand when I was obese. Now that I can I've turned into a Paula Deen lol. Pinterest is my haven. I go there and try stuff constantly. My kids don't realize how often they eat tofu (they think its a jiggly cheese lol) however becareful with tofu and ur boyfriend husband or whatever bc I can't remember what my nut said but it can kill testosterone or something like that in men and if u plan on kids that may affect. I can't remember what it did but u can Google it. I love to cook so much now and its theraputic to me. I laugh bc ny exs never got to eat like my bf does lol.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
