Hello,

I am 1 week post op. I'm able to tolerate 14oz of muscle milk over a 30-45 minute time period. I take small sips and never feel over full or get the foamies. I am just concerned I will stretch my pouch. Should I be able to do that so soon after surgery. I also don't have much issue getting in my 64oz of fluids a day.

Thanks in advance.

I'm 5 days post op and as long as I go slow my 64 oz has been no issue. My dr has me drinking 12 oz of Atkins and Unjury shakes a day4oz at a time ( 3 meals so to speak). As long as you don't have any discomfort I would think its fine.

Ok! I was worried they tricked me or something! They put me under and cut me but left my stomach alone. I didn't really watch the clock close while drinking but I sipped slowly and took breaks. When it all went down with no issues and the container was empty I was like "wait......" I checked the receipt for the time and it was 45 min prior. I was worried I did something wrong!

I was told that the pouch is like a funnel with a 1/4 inch opening at the bottom so liquids basically drain out as we drink them.

I thought the same thing! Lol I thought it was way too easy at first.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
