Kinda wish I had a dumping issue, so I would not keep testing my sweet tooth so much!

Yep that's what I wanted to know. You are very sensitive. OMG not coke! Lol

If there's a good side to this.....I'm a fast dumper, not one where it hits hours later so I can at least tell what's causing it :P that and my desire to have dessert after dinner very day has completely been cured! I went to a baby shower today, had about 4 bites of cake, knew I was going to try it so I at a couple ham and cream cheese roll ups first to 'neutralize' the carbs so to speak. This is still a hell of a lot better than the damn band was!!!!!!

HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 225

Oh yes I couldn't agree with you more about better than band....I still am skittish with eating because of the four years of stuck stuck go to er empty band refill. Years of mucus backing up....I keep telling myself it's ok out won't happen in all actuality I do get a similar feeling if something it's not chewed up completely or I eat to much but I've learned to stop before and to not talk so much when I'm eating as to chew throughly!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
