depression is taking over!

Recommended Posts

Well my surgery date was 2/26/13 and I've lost 23lbs,and I still hate my body and hate anyone who looks at me since i had my baby 6mos. Ago i tend to only wear baggy clothes so nobody will pay me any attention,so i went to the grocery store today and a very handsome man approached me for my number and i was so upset because how could someone like him even look at a person like me all he's looking for is sex,so I hurried and left the store all i can do is cry,my ex left for someone smaller and seems to be happy hopefully with more Weightloss and therapy I can one day find happiness.

As far as men goes, the good ones are not just looking for the perfect body or perfect woman. If that was the case supermodel or Halley berry would never have gone through a divorce. Men do like strong, confident, smart and nice women. Personality really does go a long way!! I can't imagine what all you are going through- weight loss is just a tool and not a cure. You have to figure out the real issue to the depression to make sure you can live a happy health life. (((Hugs)))

I went through several crappy relationships and dates in my life. Got married and divorced 2 years later. Then I met the love of my life, and I've been through my highest weight period with him. He loves me no matter what size I am. He's been there right by my side through the whole pre-op period and surgery. I could not ask for better. One of our friends (a skinny minnie) made a comment today that she wishes her boyfriend treated her as well as mine treats me. The quality men will want you for you, no matter what your size is. They'll see your personality shine through. And some of them actually like big girls :)

I too suffer from anxiety and depression and I think alot of it has to do with my size. I have dealt with infidelity in my marriage too and thought it was because of the way I looked. But, you are a beautiful person and the inside and deep down you know that. You have done a brave thing to have the rny. Now, you are going to make your outside as beautiful as your inside. I think maybe talk to your doctor about seeing a counselor to sort through your feelings. I have done this and it has been a tremendous help. You have to get back to loving you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
