Hi everyone

I'm an Aussie girl trying to decide whether to go with a sleeve or bypass after 12 years of two bands with continual problems and finally saying no more in jan 13. Since band has come out I've gained 20lb!!!!! Arrhgggggh.

I've got an amazing partner who is very athletic and whippet slim but very supportive SPF whatever decision I feel is best for me.

First surgeon apt next week! Scared but excited!

I decided on rny because I have bad reflux from band damage and that's a problem with the sleeve. I'm scheduled for March 21. Don't forget to check out the band to bypass forums.

How are you doing? What stage are you at

I'm on the soft food stage. I just don't understand I don't eat much either as it has been a struggle since surgery. Surgery date was 2/1/13 and have only lost 17lbs since, I also exercise 3-4 times a week 40-60 min. You don't know how bad I want to loose this weight. Any trick suggestion advice I would gladly take it as you have an excellent outcome CONGRATS again!

To be honest I have hardly done any exercise. I try and make sure my Protein is always number one regardless if I miss out on every other food group. Your loss is not bad. Mine was slow in the first month too and I am still hardly ever hungry. Greek yogurt has been a very close friend and my Protein Drinks. I don't have much variety but if there is anything I can help you with don't hesitate to ask.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
