Okay, the pre-op diet has officially kicked my butt. Ten more days to go and currently laying on my bed wondering if I actually have the strength left to get back up and walk to the bathroom (10 feet away). I am whooped.

You can do this. Try adding some things you are allowed but don't eat often. Maybe Jello or Popsicles or an extra serving of Soup. It helps me and I'm only on day 2 of my pre-op diet. Drink more liquids and read or do a craft to keep your mind off food. You CAN do this!!!! I'll be praying for you.

Awww. Thanks, that's so sweet!!! I'm actually doing decently with the food (for the most part....I do have my moments!!). It's the complete and total exhaustion that's kicking my butt!!!! I worked 9 hours today then when straight from the office to my son's school to start setting up for tomorrows Cub Scout pinewood derby races. From there to wal-mart to pick up the big stuff we need at home before I have surgery (heavy stuff I won't be lifting for a while, cat food, dog food, etc). About half way through wal mart I thought my legs were just going to give out. Actually took effort to lift my feet and take steps. I'm drinking a ton, well over 100 oz a day (I essentially drink Water or crystal light all day long), I'm getting in well over my Protein requirements, but I'm averaging 600-700 calories a day and have virtually no carbs...and there's just no get up and go left!! I'm a single mom with an 8 year old, I'm the treasurer for his Cub Scout den, attempting to hold together an odd but fabulous relationship on the sly with an amazing man, and a family practice physician assistant. We are almost always busy going and doing something....I'm just not used to slowing down and apparently I'm going to have to for a bit. And I don't like it!!! :D.

Okay done whining for a little while :)

Wait, one more, I started my period today and I'd give my right arm for some ibuprofen and a hunk of cheesecake. Okay, now I'm done whining! Thank you so much for the pep talk!

Wow you do have your hands full. Maybe you can get some help from women's group at church or family?

No worries, it'll work out (and I do get. A whole week post-op to rest and recover!!!) my friends and family are doing all the can to help, I'm just not used to needing any help.

Just occurred to me when checking out my Vitamin samples.... Is your Iron low and have you tried a B12 supplement??

Nope all good, get a B12 shot the first of every month and just got my pre-op labs back and my Iron was the highest it's ever been (yay flint stones!!!!). I'm telling ya, it's just the drastic diet change. No fuel to burn the fire that keeps me going!!! As I lay here listening to my tummy grumble :/

I totally know how you feel! I have been pretty much useless since I started my pre-op diet on Wednesday. Angry all the time, not hungry because of the level of Protein I am consuming but irritated by even that! To make it even worse, I haven't lost any weight! my mom keeps saying it will all be worth it, but the more and more people that find out about the surgery the more pressure and anxiety I feel surrounding it. Still working on find a Protein Shake that I can choke down without wanting to vomit everywhere. You are right, the coping skills are just gone at the moment. Didn't eve go to church this morning because I didn't want to have to pretend I was ok. Ugh...2 1/2 weeks left.

I'm wasn't nearly as miserable yesterday (and I spent 5 hours with 50+ hyped up cub scouts!!) so it DOES get better, it really does!!! Plus I think the mental part of having found Protein drinks I actually enjoy has helped a ton too, I'm less angry about starving now :P 7 days and 22 hours :D

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
