Thank you ! Thank you! I started at 265lbs. 34 yrs old. I still have a lot of fat around my thighs. That will be hard to completely tone....but i have hard too many surgeries already so i will work hard to avoid the skin removal surgery if possible.

I'm sorry....one more question. How tall are you? I'm the same age and same pre op weight. You're inspiring me to what is possible!

6 weeks after surgery i started the gym but just the elliptical. But i would go everyday even if it was just 20-30 mins .. Little by little i went progressing ..... Make it a point to be a little active little by little ..it will get easier..... Its all a mind thing after. Before the sugery i couldnt do much myself.... Going up one flight of stairs would kill me. I also had bac k problems . but after the sugery i promised myself i would go.... I did not want to rely on the surgery.

Hey how did your thighs turn out? Abs? I am pre-op and 234, size 14-16..... I am worried about skin......

You look good girl!

I am going to post this pic to show that with working out the skin can be a minimal issue. Mind you it may be my body type/shape ,,, this is me about 1 week ago. I wore a girdle for most of the year. now I do'nt feel I need to. The bulge in my lower abs is still fatty and there is excess skin. I do still have fat an little skin in my inner thighs. I do believe the more I lose (my new goal is to weigh 130lbs) i will probably have more loose skin in my inner thighs. but, t is not much ...not enough to have surgery to remove thh skin. I started a size 22, now I am size 8 ...(in Canada). I use any regular cream every time after I shower (sometimes 2x a day) to help with the elasticity. I am 34 years old. I am not losing much weight in the lat 2 months .. .maybe becasue it is now muscle, but I did drop a couple of more sizes. so maybe the loss was not so fast to give me too much lose skin. Everyone is different. But trust me I am now a firm believer that with excersice it is possible to prevent lose skin to a certain dregree. I always Remember that the surgery is a tool. It is not the sole solution. I set my mentality that I did not want to rely on the surgery ... I used it to get me out of the hole, but it is up to me to stay out of it. I encourage everyone to set that mentality and work out. We got the help to control our portions, but being healthy is more then that.

I hope this helps. I want to share this to help and encourage others.

That was helpful. I am doing some stuff for the next 3 weeks before surgery... Workout-wise, to build my definition prior. Luckily I have muscular genes so I hope it helps. My mom is 5'2" and 125-130 pds. At 57 she only just started ab workouts in the last year because she lost her natural 4-6 pack and wanted more definition...... Sickening huh! LOL!!

Hopeful....

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
