March Surgery Dates

Recommended Posts

I had mine this past Tuesday and didn't have it until 1:00 PM and I'm diabetic! Rest assured though, by that morning I wasn't even hungry anymore since the day before was Clear Liquids. You are going to do great, and I am super excited for you. I'm 4 days out and feeling pretty good and I'm a gigantic wuss :)

Thank you for your kind words. I am so nervous and excited at the same time. What did all of you bring to the hospital? Anything you would recommend?

I was thinking house coat/- I hate open back gowns

I always put two gowns on. One with opening in the front and one opening in the back. Works great. :)

I can't wait for the day where I want my picture taken. Where I won't look at my fat in every single picture. :/ surgery isn't getting here fast enough

Hmmm...house shoes you can walk in, robe....I brought Burt's Bees because my lips were ridiculously chapped. I liked having the Listerine breath strips also. Lotion...deodorant...definitely lap top, ipad, phone or something you can keep us all posted with! It's nice being able to reach out on the forum when you're feeling frustrated.

I know EXACTLY what you're saying. I'm so glad the surgery is over for me, but it's harder than I thought it would be. If anyone ever tells you it's "the easy way out", you have my permission to punch them in the throat. When's your surgery date?

You've made a conscious decision to change your life. You've gone through all of this, and you have your surgery date right around the corner. These are all really good things. You have a lot to look forward to. The pre-op, the anticipation, the emotional stuff...it all sucks, but just keep telling yourself that it will get better. Before you know it...it does. You aren't alone. I'll be trudging right along with you.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
