Then I'm sure you're not eating things that aggravate it more...hang tight til your ultra sound..if you have stones I'm sure they would set you up for surgery as soon as possible. They wanted me to see the surgeon right away but I told them I would be having rny soon and they would take my gallbladder out then...just made me a little upset that I had to deal with it for 2yrs before something was done! Where is your pain mostly? Mine would move around but was always on my right side or back or up into my shoulders...then it gradually just settled in my gut in the front. I was also dealing with ulcers at the same time...if nothing shows up with your gallbladder they should do a endoscope to see if it's ulcers

It is mainly my back! And on the side of my stomach. My back pain is constant but the attacks are terrible! Especially while I'm at work. I am a banker and I've had to excuse myself several times this week to throw up and have have sweats. It's embarrassing and I'm just over it. Thanks for the advise :) If its not the gallbladder ill definitely ask about the ulcers.

I had to have an ultra sound pre op. the technician who did it pressed really hard and i just thought it was normal. Then a few days after i had an attack.. Wow that was so painful. It happened again twice before the surgery .. Luckliy i told my surgeon and he took it out while doing my op ( reversion from lap band to rny). He said that it was likely that the ultra sound tech pressed so hard that she " dislodged" one maybe. Lucky for me! - that i didn't have to have 2 surgeries.

I hope you feel better soon!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
