ok so i got my second fill on 1-24-07. my total fill is 3.4 and have been eating solids since last friday, my question is every time i eat something i feel it going down, it almost feels like its getting stuck and is bothersome but it does not hurt, but then i can feel it pass. I have not have any pb yet, but i do get slimmie. I chew my food really good but that still happens. Do you guys think im to tight or will i be ok in the near future. i just don't want to damage my band!! any advise will be appreciated.:)

I would take it very easy with food, and stick to mushies for a few days, let your stomach fully calm down. If you don't allow it to settle you take a risk of starting an evil cycle of eating, and causing swelling to make you PB, then it happens each time you eat. Better to take it slow a few days longer, let it relax, and adjust to the new fill, and then start in with solids slowly again and see if it helps. Never a good idea to court a PB!!! Good Luck!!

Also - Take the tiniest possible bite and Chew it till your jaw aches...try chewing even more than you ever thought you could when you do start with solids again.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
