Jan 14... My LUCKY day!

Recommended Posts

Revision Surgery scheduled Jan. 14, after a major FAIL with the lapband and I'm NERVOUS as heck. Starting to second guess my decision. But I KNOW it's for the best. Is there anyone out there that has a date close to mine, maybe we could become buddies and help eachother out along the way?? :)

I'm kind of in the same boat. I had gastric stapling 27 years ago and it has also failed.

I'm waiting to get my surgery date but am hoping for Jan 14 or 21st. Feel the same

NERVOUS as heck but am sure I'm making right decision and my husband is totally supportive. Would love to share and support each other--most others are 1st timers so have different concerns.

Hi, Is your band already out, or will it be done in one procedure?

Happy New Years!!!!

Mine is gonna be done in 1 procedure, on the 31st... I'm beyond nervous but I feel that I'm making the best decision. After a failed band and a year and a half of misery... Good luck to everyone....

After bugging my Drs. Office for 2weeks (finally finished all my requirements) I got my surgery date of Jan. 14th. Don't know why but kind of threw me for a loop. I'm having a revision from a 27 yr old gastric stapling (they don't do it any more) so my surgery is an open incision and is more risky so I'm optomistic but wake up in the middle of the night concerned and excited. Is any one else having an open incision surgery?

I'm not sure if you guys know of any Reiki Masters in your local area, but I saw one just before surgery and she sent me healing energy everyday after for a week and it really helped. I recovered from bypass surgery quicker and easier than minor knee surgery. I was pain free in 7 days and feeling great! It really helped with the healing process.

Had my pre-op Dr visit & blood work on Fri. for surgery on Jan 14th. Feel better about decision after talking to Dr Chae. Because it has to be open incision (could take 2-3 hours because they may have a lot of adhesions to deal with) and I'll be in hospital for 5-8 days. That was kind of a shock! Guess my biggest concerns are post-op complications.

My nutritionist says not to do "The last meal of my life" thing but I'm kind of doing that. Going to try and be better on diet & exercise this last week. Wish me luck.

We have the same surgery date. You'll probably get out of the hospital before I do (I'll be in 5-8 days) but would love to share the experience with you.

You must be in Colorado! I started this whole wls experience at Dr Chae's seminar 3.5 years ago! I ended up being banded 3 years ago by Dr Tillquist and will be having my band removed and revised to bypass on the 14th! Good luck on Monday!!

I used to live in castle rock, but now we live in Thornton. My surgery will be at Rose with Dr Snyder. I have a 5:30 am checkin on Monday morning!

You're luck, my surgery isn't until 2:30 so have all day to worry if I've made right decision.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
