I tried sleeping on my left side but it didn't work. I felt some gasses moving around but none released. :( I just woke up in more pain. I should be going home today so hopefully that'll help move things along. Thanks for the advice though!!

Ask about being able to take some GasX. This too shall pass (pun-intended) sorry. I passed very little at first but now that the gas has been passing I sometimes wish I had a cork...*sigh* I actually didn't pass any until a day or two AFTER I returned home. It has quite a long path to follow.

Keep taking care of yourself. Sounds like your healing well.

I am not doing ANYTHING the doc says I cant do because of my complications it could still kill me so its a slow go process I am only on clear liquids for another 2-3 weeks

Nothing for pain. I know itching is a sign of healing but I'm itching around my incisions not on them. Basically itching everywhere I don't have incisions from low chest to just below belly button and all the way across. I think I would rather have pain bc atleast I could take pain pills to help. Ugh. I also haven't lost any weight in 3 days. I'm stuck at 226.

Itching is probably the little nerves reconnecting.

Old hippie gal, dr roller doesn't do drains, you will be on a morphine pump, and they put the iv where they find a vein.. Usually hand or forearm. Try not to be nervous, it's been easier than I anticipated.

Do they put the I'VE for your morphine drip in your arm or in your hand? Also does everyone go home with one of those drain bulbs or whatever it is? I have seen several post about them taking a drain out and hurt pretty bad when it did

My IV was in my hand. They took my drain out the day I was released from the hospital!

Don't get discouraged, buddy! It's called a stall and completely normal. I personally need to get excercising a little more. Still slight discomfort but doing well otherwise-- Went out today to bank and post office. Doesn't take much more than that to tire me out. So I came home and rested and I'll be back up and doing a little more soon. As long as you follow protocol, the weight loss will catch up. I am on pureed and savoring every morsel. Amazed at how little I paid attention to anything I ate before. Now I love and appreciate this new way of eating. I even use the smaller utensils, plate, bowls etc...

I am so glad it went well for you, glad no pumps. did the give you a waist binder?

Itching!!!!!!! Omg! My belly itches so bad around all my incisions. Does anyone else have this? I've been putting on lotion but it's not helping. Maybe I need an anti-itching one?

I put on neosporin pain relief and it goes away.

They could put the IV in your arm or hand. I asked for mine in my arm because you it is easier to maneuver then if it was in your hand. I was also very scared of having the drainage tube removed but I have to say I did not feel it what so ever. Nor did I feel when the staples were removed.

If I had one complaint it would be my sore hands from them sticking me 3x in my left hand and not being able to start an iv and eventually having to use my right hand and then overnight they stuck me another 3x in left hand to draw bloodwork to eventually get it from my left forearm but its a small complaint
