My surgery was 12-3-12 @ 9am and with my complications I was in the hospital for awhile and the first 5 days I was in ICU with my face so swollen I couldnt see and the first 2 days in ICU I also still had my respirator/breathing tube in from surgery

Hang in there I'm sure you will do awsome... I can't say that I don't regret it because there are times I do but then again there are times I'm glad I had it done even with my complications ...NOT EVERYONE has complications more often than not people go through this just fine my issue wasn't from the doctor or the "surgery" its self... It was actually my stomach being so fragile that it kept busting open when they were sewing me closed but there was NO way to tell a person has that problem until you actually do the surgery but only 1 out of so many thousands have that problem and you really do have to stay positive about it because I can't afford to get depressed then I would want to eat which could be dangerous for me but good luck you will do fine I'm not sure I can really be much of an inspiration to you... There are so many more on here who are doing amazing check with them for great info

ask my surgeons clinic about a binder for my stomach after surgery, they said NO do not get one or use one, not for a larpascopic surgery. they said if it was the old type surgery where they split you open then yes you would get a binder, but a binder should never be used for larpascopic, glad I asked

Saw the doctor today, got clearance to return to work on Monday, so happy! I miss all of my students, so much. We have only one more week then we're off for 17 days for the holidays so will have add'l time to rest. Pretty easy week because not much is planned when the kids are bouncing off the walls with Christmas silliness. Love this time of year with them and glad I will be able to be a part of it all. Lost a total of 30, with 10lbs lost since Saturday. I did find out that the upper left side that has been giving a lot of people pain is where the port where the cutter/stapler is inserted. The one above your navel is the port where the camera is inserted.. Hmmmm, interesting. So going to make some of my meals for work for thr upcoming week and will be trying to stay hydrated and nourished.....main priority! Excited!

Omg my back pain is sooo bad right now I can't stand it

Same here!

Its probably doctor specific....my doctor has me wear mine most of the day and it helps the pain tremendously. My surgery was done laproscopic but I have an open incision almost 3 in long and that could be why my doctor wanted me to wear it....I love it so much.

Well my plan to go to the Christmas party without any pain medication today totally backfired on me. I had to leave the party after an hour in horrible horrible pain and Im finally comfortable. I think I over did it today. I walked well over 3 miles today, walked up and down the stairs, took a shower, and went to the party....think im going to take baby steps from now on!!

I'm having surgery next Thursday. What shakes, food, liquid have been the best for you post op folks during the first 2 week? I want to get all my shopping for post op done this weekend.
