  1. I think Im going to dry mashed cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes....my doc said mashed potatoes are ok in small amounts. Everyone is different....what someone may dump with, someone else wont.
  2. So I got my staples out today YEAH...no more itching. I have lost 22 lbs since preop and Im on pureed foods finally. Im so excited. I ate some pinto beans and cheese mashed up for lunch....it was so good.
  3. Where did you buy it from...Im interested
  4. I felt like that when I had to come home with a catheter, I know that is mild compared to the complication that you had. I just went home the day I was discharged and cried because my doctor kept saying, I dont understand what is going on with your bladder not waking up, your so young. I have only been feeling great since I was put on an antibiotic....before that it felt like someone ran me over several times. On another note, a 62 pound weight loss is something to be proud of, Congrats!
  5. Have you tried Almond or Coconut unsweetened milk? It is lactose free and not too bad tasting either. I was lactose intolerant prior to surgery and I had the same symptoms (diarrhea). Silk milk isnt too bad either...I like the almond and coconut taste more.
  6. I actually got a Ninja blender from my mom for my surgery present.
  7. So far I can tolerate Vanilla and Caramel SF pudding, SF Jello, I have put two tablespoons of peanut butter in my shakes and blended it, I can only tolerate soy, almond, and coconut milk thats unsweetened, CarbMaster yogurt from Kroger and thats all for now. You may have to watch out for some of the white or creamy type soups because of the carbs and sugar...I cant handle anything that is creamy...clear broth soups without the noodles is that way I go. I would try some cheese and scrambled egg, egg salad (fat free mayo, pickles, and boiled egg) pureed together, you can do the same thing with tuna. This following website is awesome..I have learned so much from it. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/
  8. My doctor put in a wick drain and she pulled it the day I was discharged...it didnt feel the greatest when she pullled it out.
  9. I felt terrible a couple of days ago and I was sick, had a UTI. I feel back to my perky self today after the antibiotics kicked in.
  10. My nutritionist said that I would only be able to tolerate half of an egg for awhile. Belching is a sign that you are full since we dont have any nerves to tell us to stop Im so happy for you Congrats!
  11. I feel so productive today I took my kids to get haircuts, pictures with santa, pick up some items from the store for dinner and my daughters project for school, topped off with me cooking dinner for everyone. Oh I feel so much better.
  12. Also not to scare you but I had a friend that had a sleeve, he drank a diet sprite as soon as he got home, it expanded his stomach, tore his suture lines, and caused a massive leak. He almost died and was in ICU for a month on IV antibiotics. So it is vitally important to measure and follow post op rules, it could be a life or death situation.
  13. Has anyones inactive stomach been growling....oh its such a wierd feeling because before it was always followed by hunger pains and it is in a completely different place than what I thought lol, its like my lower rib is growing. Just wanted to throw that out there lol.
  14. I was on clear liquids for two days then they switched me to full liquids until the 20th which is a total of 7 days, then I will be on pureed for 3-5 weeks, next I will be on regular diet (scary to think about). I can only have 2 ounces of food an hour and that is it....eg. pudding, shakes, yogurt but I can tolerate about 6oz clear liquids in an hour before I start belching. Your body will let you know what it can tolerate.
  15. I am praying everything goes down good I would chew it really good and you can prob mix it with some bullion if you think its too dry.
  16. Are you on the pureed diet? My doc said if chewing was involved...dont even think about it...but I bought a Ninja to do all my chewing for me. My best friend had the RNY and she still cant eat chicken but that was the first I have ever heard of someone not tolerating a lean meat postop but it will be up to your body.
  17. Well I was sent home with that catheter and started having horrible bladder pains last night. I decided to sleep on it since I wasnt running a fever. This morning I woke up and I could barely walk. I just got home from the doctor. They took that darn catheter out and I had such a raging infection from the catheter. So they put me on Bactrim DS (do you think they order liquid, no and they arent the easiest pills to crush but I did my best) and Pyridium for the bladder pain. Im down to my surgery weight....304. I had gained 11 pounds in fluid after surgery and now Im back to the starting line. I have lost 64lbs total since I started this journey. Hopefully this Pyridium will kick in and I can go for a walk...it just hurts so bad to even take baby steps ughh.
  18. I have always used this gluten free Peanut Butter cookie recipe 1 cup peanut butter 1 cup splenda 1 egg Mix it up and bake it just like regular peanut butter Cookies
  19. My doctor had me use Milk of Magnesia....I got the cherry flavor cuz that stuff is nasty by itself. It wasnt too bad....best thing about it was the back pain went completely away.
  20. And on another note I am only 3lbs away from my weight when I went in for surgery!! So excited!
